Merchant displays the costs for various crafted items in WoW. It does this by looking up the values to purchase components for tradeskills from the Auction House information stored in Auctioneer.

There are 2 ways to view this information:

Tooltip - When the tradeskill window is open, the Auctioneer tooltip for the item to be crafted will now include the Production Cost.

Chat Window - Using the '/merclist' command will output a list of all items in the current tradeskill window, and the costs to make each. '/merclist profit' will only show those that are able to make a profit. Depending on your server's economy, there may be no profitable results known to you.

FAQ:

Q. My enchanting tradeskill tooltips do not display costs.
A. Enchanting costs are not viewable in a tooltip. You must use the chat window interface to view these.

Q. The prices seem a bit high.
A. Costs of components are based on the average auction values. Depending upon what Auctioneer has seen in the auctionhouse, it may be the average bid, the average buyout, or a combination of both. This means that you may actually be able to purchase the items for less in the auctionhouse, if you're shrewd enough.

Q. The prices seem random. -OR- It says 'Not Enough Data'.
A. The more information Auctioneer has, the better results you'll get from Merchant. Be sure to scan the auctionhouse on a regular basis for current prices.

Q. Nothing happens when I type /merclist.
A. You must open a tradeskill window first!

Q. The addon breaks everything/something!!!

Inspired by Component by Vincent of Blackhand - the mods do not do the same thing, and are quite different, but I used the basic structure and layout of his mod to show me how to parse the tradeskill screens.

There is no dependency information for this file.

- Changed price functions to consider both the avgBid and/or the Median Buyout of an item, depending on how much data is available.
- Will now default to using vendor values from Auctioneer (available in most cases) if there is absolutely no auction data available.
